The Consultation/Tasting I am so thrilled you are considering me for your big day. There are so many daunting decisions to be made for large events and weddings. A decision like cake or cupcakes shouldn’t be made hastily. I know this, and take great care to ensure our time together is well spent. Here are answers to some questions you might have…
What can I expect from a Tasting? How much does it cost?
The cost for a Custom Consultation is $25. When you call to set up your tasting I’ll ask you to choose 3 flavors of cake to try.
Choose from: Almond Cream, Chocolate, Coconut, Lemon, Pink Champagne, Red Velvet, Snickerdoodle, and Vanilla.
Be thinking of your own tastes, but also the tastes of the many honored guests you are inviting. Chocolate and Vanilla are classics that never go out of style. But if Pink Champagne, Melt-in-you-mouth Coconut, or a delicious Snickerdoodle (my twist on a sumptuous spice cake), are more your cup of tea, your guests may raise their eyebrows in delight! You may take any left overs to share with others, but I ask that no more than 4 people attend the tasting. Please let me know of any dietary concerns when you make your appointment.
What will we discuss at the Tasting?
Your tasting should last about 45 minutes. I will give you private time to taste each of the selections. When we come back together, we will discuss the nitty-gritty details. The more information you have with you the better. If you have pictures, pinterest ideas, magazine cut-outs, fabric swatches, flower types, your colors…anything that relates to your theme…bring them! We will cover:
+Event Date Details (location, date, contact info, delivery)
+How many Servings you need.
+The Design of the cake or cupcakes, and make sketches.
+Cake and frosting flavors
+Potential Cost (I reserve the right to hold off on providing a quote for the final price if additional research is needed in calculating costs. I may know on the spot, or I will take no longer than 7 days to get back to you.) Notes will be taken in my trusty Wedding Notebook at our meeting. After any research, calculations, and design sketches I finalize, and you approve through subsequent emails, those details will be transferred directly to a Custom Order Contract that you will sign, scan, and email back to me. If you are not ready to place the order just yet, that’s totally fine! I’ll file your paperwork carefully and refer back to it if and when you’re ready to book.
Please note that your signature and 50% deposit guarantee that your order is reserved for that day. (You may still make adjustments to your order accordingly after the deposit is made. However, no changes will be accepted within 14 days of the event.) If not secured, and someone else requests that day, I will contact you to see if you’d like to reserve it first. If I don’t hear back from you in adequate time, I will move forward with the new client.
